今から21年ほど前に、12歳の女の子が、リオデジャネイロで行われた地球サミットでのスピーチを聞きました。地球上に起きているいろいろな問題を、的確に、分かりやすく、また、情熱的でありながら冷静に発言していました。
子供の目線から物事を見ていて、ありのままの自分の気持ちを訴えているのだと思いました。彼女の言うことが全くその通りで、また、21年経った今も現状はあまり変わっていないのが悲しく感じました。
彼女の言っていることは、実現不可能なことではなく、スピーチしている内容の全てが、人間の考え方を変えれば、さほど難しい問題ではなく、実現をすることが出来る内容です。
大人の目線から見ると、ほとんどが認識していて、分かっていることばかり、彼女が言うように、すぐにアクションを起こすことが大事なことだと感じます。

4:26if a child on the streets who has nothing is willing to share
4:31why are we gonna have everything still so greedy

4:38that these are children my own age that it makes the tremendous difference where

4:46could be one of those children living in the fed bella’s of rio
4:50i could be a child starving in somalia
4:54victim of war
4:55in the middle east
4:57by a beggar
4:58in india
5:00i am only a child yet i know
5:03if all the money spent on war
5:05we spent on finding environmental answers
5:08ending poverty
5:10and finding treaties
5:11what a wonderful place this earth would be
5:15at school
5:17even in kindergarten
5:19he teaches how to behave in the world
5:22you teach us
5:24to not to fight with others
5:26to work in sap
5:28to respect others
5:30to clean up and that’s
5:32not to hurt other creatures
5:34to share
5:35not be greedy
5:37then why do you go out and do the at do the things you tell us not to do
5:42do not forget
5:44why you are attending these conferences
5:47rule you’re doing this for
5:49where your own children
5:53you are deciding what kind of a world we are going up there
5:57parents should be able to come for their children by saying
6:00everything’s going to be all right
6:02it’s not the end of the world’s
6:05and we’re doing the best we can
6:08but i don’t think you can say that to us anymore
